Supporting families during the COVID-19 pandemic

Hennepin Healthcare Young Professionals Group

The Hennepin Healthcare Young Professionals Group has joined together to support families during the COVID-19 pandemic.

During this pandemic, families must cope with quarantine restrictions and isolation, loss of supportive presences such as school and religious community, and financial upheaval brought on by furloughs and job loss. Parents struggle to provide basic needs for themselves and their children. Stress and anxiety keep them up at night and confuse their children, who need security, routine, and reassurance.

We cannot solve for all that is currently affecting the lives of our patients, but we can help to support families to meet day-to-day needs, like food, diapers, and cleaning supplies. With support, parents are supported by the community, which allows them to bring their best selves to parenting their children and to meeting the challenges ahead.

In response, we are asking for your support for families so we can not only help them meet their healthcare needs but their day-to-day needs as well.

Below are some ways that you can help:

$10 – Provides personal hygiene products for one individual (i.e. soap, toothpaste, toilet paper, etc.)

$25 – Provides a package of diapers

$50 – Provides personal hygiene products for a family of four

$75 – Provides formula and diapers

$100 – Provides cleaning supplies, personal hygiene products, diapers, and formula to a family
